The Minecraft Vanilla Cape is A Weird Mystery

The Minecraft Vanilla Cape has players confused. Minecraft has a variety of cool capes. Did you know this? It's one of those item slots in the sandbox game that many people don't pay much attention to, but they're available if you'd like them. Some of these items can be used to transfer your Mojang account or attend events. However you'll need to have done something prior to getting the next one.

The Minecraft Vanilla Cape is, at this point an oddly well-known fact. This is due to an article about the cape was posted on the official Minecraft site earlier this week, only to be deleted a couple of hours later. This is a bizarre state of affairs and there's no explanation as to why.

Phoenix SC posted a video about the whole thing, and even created mockups to show the cape in action. The short version is that Mojang posted a post that we have just linked to, but it returned an error code 404. Then they removed it. It explained that players who purchased the Java and Bedrock versions of Minecraft before June 6, 2022 would receive a fancy Vanilla Cap.

However, the site was taken down a few hours later, and can now only be seen on the Wayback Machine This is a bit odd.  Minecraftservers.me The article isn't particularly alarming and it doesn't look like it was made public in advance. Although we don't know why it was taken down, it's clear that it was. According to the Wikipedia the cape was announced on the Minecraft Discord server So why was the post taken down?
